Well, it's finally here. And I haz it and have been playing it for a bit.

The game starts out fairly linear at first....mostly because you're in a rather isolated environment (Cocoon). However, from what I've been told, once you finally leave Cocoon and find yourself in the outside world, everything opens up quite drastically.

The graphics are the best the series has ever had. The story is pretty awesome to (but then again I've always had a thing for "The Resistance fights The Man" type stories). The character designs are, of course, by Tetsuya Nomura so they have that weird mixture of somewhat-realistic and completely ridiculous. One character is a black guy named Sazh with a bird's nest shaped afro that houses a small chocobo chick.

The dialouge is......Okay. Sometimes it can be quite effective an powerful. Other times, well......I just keep telling myself that something was lost in translation ("Heroes never back down from fights". Yeah, no shit Sherlock). But that's pretty much every FF game since VII.

Obviously I've just started......and FF games have a tendency to grow on you as you go along.

Just got it Myself. Probably will be up all night playing it.

and OMGWTFBBQ REDHEADS! Then it zooms in ingame, strawberry blonde -_- LAME! I'm sure I saw an actual redhead somewhere in the opening cinematic so I gotta go to some forest first.

I've got it reserved at the local GameStop while I was at home for a dental appt.

Then I left for college after forgetting to pick it up.

Is it just me or is this seeming like a short game. 7-8 hours and I'm already in disk 2, and still waiting for being able to do the sidequests and explore on my own accord to some degree
